Curriculum

Our Curriculum, the Bible, and Testing

At Canyonside Christian School we use the Standards-Based Curriculum.

We utilize Journey’s by Houghton Mifflin Harcort and enVision math by Savvas Learning Company for our Students in Elementary.

Our Pre-School provides a foundation for learning both socially and academically to help your child succeed in elementary school.  For many students, preschool is their first experience in a structured setting with teachers and groups of other students.  It’s an opportunity to learn to share, follow instructions, and begin the foundation for learning that will occur in elementary school.  These skills are strengthened by thought-provoking teaching skills in vocabulary, science, art, snack time, music, and circle time with favorite books and lessons. Still leaving time for fun!! Canyonside Christian School is not a daycare but a Pre-School where your student will start their learning experience.

We teach God’s word every day using the NIV Bible.

We use the IRI (Idaho Reading Indicator) and MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing assessments during the school year.  The IRI is given twice a year, and our MAP testing is given three times a year: fall, winter, and spring.

Our goal is to facilitate the development of the children: academically, physically, socially, and spiritually.  Our curriculum is taught by educators and administrators who serve as role models in their Christian walk, and who are maturing in both their professional life and their Christian faith.
