JOG -A -THON

We have less than two weeks until the JOG- A -THON!  Please keep sending in completed forms and help your student’s class earn their popcorn and/or pizza party!  Fundraisers are a vital part of the success of Canyonside!  All the money we raise throughout the school year goes directly to operating and maintenance costs for the school.  We greatly appreciate your generous donations and support!  Just a reminder, the JOG- A -THON will be held once again at the Jerome High School gymnasium on Thursday, October 3rd. On the day of the JOG- A- THON, we suggest you arrive at the gymnasium by 8:45 a.m. so you can get a great seat to see your favorite “jogger/joggers!  Each class will be in their best “Spirit Wear attire” and will be performing a class cheer before the “JOG” begins. 😊  This is one of the biggest and most exciting day for our students and staff!  We also want to thank the families who have generously donated the “BIG PRIZES” for each age group. These prizes, along with classroom totals, are located in the main CCS hallway as you come into school. If you have any questions and/or concerns about donations, or how you can help with the JOG- A -THON , please feel free to email Liz Artho at fundraising@canyonsidechristian.school.  We are still in need of raffle donations, balloons, and tent poles for the BIG DAY! 

Progress Reports

Student Progress Reports will go home on Thursday of this week, in your student’s weekly folder.  Your student’s teacher will be informing you of your child’s progress this school year.  This may include any testing information, behavioral information, academic growth and/or concerns and general information about classroom schedules and procedures.  Teachers look forward to sharing this information with you as it gives them a chance to share how amazing your child is doing in classroom, at specials, and at recess.  

Festival of Giving Christmas Tree Donations

The Magic Valley Festival of Giving is an amazing event that originated out of the need to raise money and support for local non-profits.  For the past several years, CCS has had the opportunity

to participate in and receive the benefits from this event!  This year’s event will begin on Friday, November 22nd, with the Gala of Giving at the Fleur-de-lis-Ranch.  As in years past, CCS will be decorating a beautiful Christmas tree that will be auctioned off during this event!  We are in need of donated decorations for this beautiful tree!  Liz Artho, the fundraising coordinator, has put up several pictures of items needed for the Christmas tree on the “Fundraising bulletin board in the main hallway.  Your support and donations are greatly appreciated, as we join together to make this another successful event!

Upcoming Events

September 23 & 24: IRI Testing

October 3:  Jog A Thon at JHS.  This is a ½ day of school and dismissal will be at 12:30 p.m.

October 4:  NO SCHOOL; Excel will be available on this day.

October 10 & 11: Vanden Bosch Pumpkin Patch Field Trips for Preschool – 2nd Grades

October 16: PTF CANDY SALE

October 17:  Tubbs Berry Farm Pumpkin Patch Field Trip for 3rd – 5th Grades

October 24:  CCS Character Parade & PTF Bake Sale!  More information will follow at a later date.

October 28 – 31:  Parent Teacher Conferences

November 1:  NO SCHOOL, EXCEL will be available.
