New Lunch Program!
Beginning on Monday, September 21st, Canyonside will be participating in the Jerome School District Summer Feeding extension. This “Free lunch program”, sponsored by the USDA, will be available through December 31, 2020. If your student would like to participate in this program, please see the lunch sign up sheets (located outside of each classroom) for more participation details. We would like to have a general idea by next week on how many students may be participating in this FREE lunch program. If your child does not participate they will need to bring a lunch from home.
The CCS READ-A-THON is 2 weeks away, and CCS students are pumped to READ! Please keep sending in completed READ-A-THON forms and help your student’s class earn their popcorn party and READ-A-THON TEE SHIRT! The 99 Pledges email information also went out this week to each CCS family. Please share your student’s READ-A-THON information on all social media platforms with family and friends. Fundraisers are a vital part of the success of Canyonside Christian School. All the money we raise throughout the school year goes directly to operating and maintenance costs. Unfortunately, we just found out that the Festival of Giving fundraiser has been cancelled for this year. ☹ This fundraiser typically brings in about $10,000 for CCS… so we are hoping and planning for GREAT SUCCESS with the READ-A-THON!! As part of the READ-A-THON we are asking CCS families to bring in new and/or gently used books for the BOOK WAGON! Students will be able to purchase books for $0.25 or they can “trade a book for a book”. The BOOK WAGON will be available to students during their Library time the week of the READ-A-THON!
Health and Wellness Policy
Please call the school office by 8:20 a.m. if your student will not be attending school on a particular day. For the welfare of your child and other children/staff in the school, all children who are sick must be kept home. If your student has a persistent dry cough, headache, sore throat, fever, nausea/vomiting, they will not be allowed at school until those symptoms are no longer present. NO student will be allowed back at school within 24 hours of having a fever and/or vomiting. We would also recommend to keep all CCS siblings home if one of your CCS student becomes ill.
PTF CANDY SALE
PTF will be having their 1st Candy Sale of the year this Wednesday, September 16th. They will be selling “Light of the World flashlights” and fruit rollups for $1.00!
We Need YOU!
The CCS Library could really use a MAKEOVER! If you are a creative person and would LOVE to help us with some new and fun ideas for our Library, We Need YOU! There will be a “decorating” meeting this Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Library. For more information call the school office at 208-324-3444.
1st – 4th Grade classes will finish up with MAP testing this week, and student reports will go home with Progress Reports on Thursday, September 24th. The “testing year” has started off very positive, and all students are making a GREAT effort to test their best! The MAP testing schedule this week is as follows:
