We had an amazing Chapel time this morning! “Thank you” K4 (Mrs. Angela’s class) for leading us in Chapel during the month of November. Mrs. Angela shared with us about “the Shield of Faith”, and how the actual shields Roman soldiers used, were the size of their entire body! She reminded us that God also “shields” our whole body from the evils and temptations of this world, and we as his followers just need to put our full FAITH in him! Hebrews 11:1 says – “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Mrs. Cunningham’s K5 class will be leading Chapel during the month of December.
We will be sharing in our annual “CCS Thanksgiving Feast” this Thursday, November 21st, at 11:30 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room. This is the day we celebrate as a school, how thankful and blessed we are to have each other and the many blessing the Lord has provided for us. Your student will not need to bring a lunch on this day. We will be serving turkey, ham, stuffing, mac-n-cheese, potatoes, rolls and dessert. If you have signed up to bring an item, please have it to the school by this Wednesday.
World’s Finest Chocolate
The World’s Finest Chocolate Fundraiser will end this Friday, November 22nd. We have had such a tremendous response to this holiday fundraiser and want to thank you for your efforts and contributions!! The students, along with the prize patrol UNICORN, have been so excited to see how much chocolate is being sold on a daily basis! Several students have earned their spot sitting on the CANDY THRONE, and CCS has earned the “SCHOOL PARTY” for all students!
We sincerely appreciate your help and support with our various fundraisers as they are vital to the continuous success of Canyonside. Many of you may not be aware that tuition and registration, alone, do not cover the total operating costs of the school and 100% of the money we raise goes towards operating expenses. We thank you for your generosity and support of all the many and very important fundraisers we participate in at CCS!
PTF Craft Night
Unfortunately the PTF Craft Night scheduled for Monday, November 25th, has been cancelled due to a pumpkin shortage. ☹
Magic Valley Festival of Giving
The Magic Valley Festival of Giving begins this Friday at the Fleur de Lis Ranch in Twin Falls! The “kick off” event will be the Gala of Giving, where there will be beautifully decorated trees and wreaths, food, music and a silent and live auction. Saturday morning, have Breakfast with Santa and vote for our AMAZING CCS Christmas tree and sleigh, made by our very own Holly Senivongs and Cameron Guillory. Saturday night, enjoy delicious food and drinks at the BBQ, Brews & Bids! The next two days will include Pictures with Princesses on Sunday and the Senior Social on Monday. The Festival of Giving is an incredible event that helps support local nonprofits and proceeds from the event will directly benefit CCS.
Thanksgiving vacation will be November 25th – 29th. There will be no school on any of these days. However, the EXCEL program will be open on Monday, November 25th and Tuesday, November 26th. Please see the sign-up sheet outside of EXCEL if you will be needing this service. All students will need to be signed up by Thursday, November 21st. Regular school will resume on Monday, December 2, 2019. We hope you have a wonderful holiday with family and friends!
