Mrs. Kristina Strickland
My name is Kristina Strickland, and I am the K2/K3 teacher. This is my first year at Canyonside Christian School.
My husband Nick and I have been married for almost 15 years, and we just moved to Twin Falls in July of this year. I have been blessed to have gotten to work as a preschool teacher in a private Christian school for the past 8 years, and moving to another state not knowing where to start, and nervous about the unknown, I feel God brought me to CCS in His perfect timing. Working alongside the welcoming staff who have amazing hearts for the Lord and children and meeting wonderful families along this journey makes it a positive and fun atmosphere to be!
I have known about Jesus since I was little when my grandma would talk to me about His never-ending love and would teach me hymns and songs. I did not fully commit my life to the Lord until I was a junior in high school but as I have lived my life and grown in my walk with Him, He is constantly showing me grace, mercy, and love-and guiding me along the way. Through lot of family strife and brokenness as I grew up, devastating tragedy, and major health concerns-He still manages to teach me to put my full trust in Him and I am always so overwhelmed with love for Him and gratitude for each lesson.
One of my favorite quotes I learned early on in my early childhood education that aligns with my teaching philosophy is: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” (Unknown) Being a part of building that foundation for young children as they learn, creating a bond with them, teaching them about Jesus, and establishing fun activities for them to learn is the best possible job out there! I am so blessed to be able to help shape our future generation in a positive way.
