Mrs. ashlee Scott
Hello, my name Ashlee Scott! I started going to Canyonside when I was four years old up until I was in the 6th grade. My class was the first to graduate at here, but even after I graduated from Canyonside, I was still here. For those who might not know, my mom is the beautiful secretary Mrs. Kathy, who was previously the very first K-3 teacher to ever teach at Canyonside. So, for me, when I say that this school feels like my second home, it’s because it literally is! Watching my mom’s love for teaching sparked a fire in me and at a very young age and I felt God’s calling on my life to be a teacher. I remember whenever I had a day off from school and she had to work, I always begged to be her helper for the day. It is crazy to think this will be my 19th year as a teacher here at Canyonside! I started off working as the Excel Program teacher/K-4 aide for 4 years and then taught K-3 for 14 years. This is my first year teaching K-4 and I am beyond excited! I truly love this school! I have witnessed so many ups and downs here at Canyonside, but one thing that always remains the same is God is always faithful. I can consider it to be such a huge blessing and honor God called ME to be a teacher here at HIS school.
My teaching philosophy/classroom goals are; I want all my students to love and enjoy coming to school. I want the kids to go home every day and say, “Guess what we did in school today?” I believe school needs to be fun and exciting, especially for four-year olds. I know that each child is created in their own unique way and their minds function differently, so it is important to me to teach in a way that best fits each child’s needs. I am also a huge believer in encouragement and want all my students to know that they CAN do anything they set their minds to. Most importantly though, I want each student to know they are LOVED by not only me, but by our Heavenly Father. What a blessing it is to share God’s love with each child and see their faces in amazement with every Bible story we share together is absolutely beautiful!
I am extremely blessed with an amazing husband, Casey. We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary in June. We have three beautiful children, two little boys, Lander (6) and Chandler (4), and one little girl Zaylee who just had her first birthday in June. I love to do anything outdoors – hiking, fishing, camping, bicycling, walking the canyon, kayaking, and playing tennis. I also enjoy arts and crafts, shopping, napping, and just hanging out with family and friends.
