CCS Newsletter January 14th – January 18th

We had a wonderful Chapel this morning lead by Mrs. DeMello’s K4 class! The Chapel theme for this month is “God Made You Special”. Mrs. DeMello shared a book by Max Lucado that reminded us we are all made in the image of God and that if God is “for us”, who can be against us! I challenged all CCS students this week to start thinking about all the special traits (or gifts) God has given each one of us and to notice special traits in others too!

Teddy Bear Week

This week is “Teddy Bear week” for all preschool students! Teachers have planned an awesome “bear themed” week full of fun and surprises with teddy bears! Preschool students are encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bear from home to join them at school. The week will conclude on Thursday with a Teddy Bear picnic in the Multipurpose Room. Preschool students will be eating McDonalds happy meals for lunch. Parents, please sign your child up for either a hamburger, cheeseburger, or chicken nugget lunch with your child’s teacher.

PTF Meeting

There will be a PTF meeting on Wednesday, January 16th, for those of you who are interested in helping with the CCS Valentine Grams. The meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Library.

Measure of Academic Progress Testing

We will begin our winter MAP testing on Tuesday, January 21st. The testing this quarter, will be for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. The data that is collected from these assessments, gives teachers and staff information on furthering instruction and the individualized academic needs of each student.

Save the Date

Boots and Bling is the theme for this year’s CCS annual auction! The auction will
be held on Saturday, March 2nd, at the Jerome Fair Grounds. If you are interested in
helping out with this year’s event, please join us for the next auction meeting on
Wednesday, January 23rd, at 2:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose room.

Volunteer Credit

If you are a parent of a CCS student and have been helping out in your student’s
classroom, please come to the front office and fill out a “Volunteer credit” form!
This “credit” allows CCS families a discount of $25.00 (per month of volunteer
service) on their student’s tuition.
