Greetings CCS Families,
Happy Holy Week! As another new week begins, my mind is full of so many different thoughts … How are students, families, and staff doing? Is week two of “homeschooling” going to be easier than week one? Is week two of “homeschooling”going to be as FUN as week one? How can I reach out to my own family this week, when we have all been advised to stay in and distance ourselves from others? And, how can I celebrate this week leading up to Easter Sunday, as a follower of Christ? So, many questions….
I think the answer can always be found in Jesus! Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” This verse reminds us that He is waiting to give us HOPE in his arms of love, and He is in control when everything else is not! One of my prayers this week is for all of you to feel His love and to know how blessed we are to have a Savior that would die for our sins, and RISE AGAIN to prove just how much He does love us!
CCS teachers continue to do an AMAZING job reaching out to their students and families! We want you to know we are here for you, and care about your questions and concerns relating to “homeschooling.” We have provided “drop bins” outside of the school doors, for those
of you who like to drop off student work for teachers to see. Some teachers are having students take pictures of their schoolwork and sending it back through email. Others are reaching out through YouTube videos, ZOOM, and phone calls. Lesson plans and class newsletters will continue to be sent out on Sunday evenings or Monday mornings. Please check your email accounts for new information weekly. We miss you and want you to stay connected.
I have had some questions relating to school events that were planned for the month of April and May. All school events in April, such as Grandparents Day, Book Fair, and Speech Meet have unfortunately been cancelled. May events are currently “on hold” until we know more about when school may or may not resume for the school year. I believe those decisions will be made in the next week or so, as the Idaho State Board of Education
will decide if Idaho schools will remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Canyonside Christian School will follow Jerome School District policies, procedures, and recommendations for all school related decisions. As much as we miss seeing all of you, we want you to be safe!
